Event Details

To help programmers learn Android, Geogad will be presenting some introductory classes on Android.

The class is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The class will take place at a to be determined location in San Francisco. Two instructors will teach up to 30 students on the basics of working with location and augmented reality in Android including

  • Determining location in real-time

  • Accessing the built-in compass and accelerometers

  • Combining location and position with the Camera view to draw your own elements to view the world in augmented reality

For more information, contact geogad at geogad.com.

Prerequirements

Since this is a good bit of material to cover in a relatively short time, all students are required to have downloaded and installed Java, Eclipse and the Android SDK before arriving at the class. Students must already know how to program in the Java programming language on which Android is based.
